Tomato shorba


Tomatao shorba is a fine blend of tomatoes, garlic and coriander. Best had during chilling winters or ideal evenings.

TOMATO SHORBHA

Ingredients:
  • 5 Ripe Bangalore Tomatoes
  • Bunch of Finely chopped Coriander
  • 10-12 cloves Finely chopped garlic(Lehsun)
  • 2 Tbsp Butter
  • 1 Tbsp Cumin Seeds(Jeera)
  • To Taste Red chilli Powder
  • To Taste Salt
  • 2-3 Green Chillies
  • 1 Tsp Sugar
Cooking Directions:
  1. Add 2 cups of water in a deep pan. Add tomatoes and green chillies to it and let it boil. Once it cool downs strain the water and keep it aside.
  2. Blend the boiled tomatoes and green chillies in a mixer to a smooth purée. Heat butter in a pan, add cumin seeds to it and when they crackle add finely chopped garlic to it and fry it for a while. Add Red pepper powder to it. Now add the tomato purée and the strained water to it. Add Sugar and salt as per taste and let it boil. Now add the chopped coriander and serve it hot.
Note: The consistency should be like that of buttermilk(add required amount of water to achieve the consistency)

TIP: While serving add Khari Bundi to it.
